RT-PCR Covid-19 Testing Kit

First ICMR approved Made-In-India COVID-19 testing RT- PCR kit developed.

Professor Utpal Tatu and his team at a startup Equine Biotech have developed a COVID-19 RT-PCR diagnostic kit.

The kit has been approved by ICMR and has now proceeded to the next stage of production. It is called GlobalTM and is claimed to be more economical and accurate compared to its alternatives in the market.

The price for the kit is not yet fixed but it is claimed to be much lower than those being used by various medical institutions and the government. The team is very happy with the results of the kit which is claimed to give an accurate result most of the time.

Though the R&D of the kit is done, manufacturing and delivery of the kit will take some time.
